Klingt nach Kitsch und ist es auch, ABER. Und das ABER ändert alles.
Der Film wurde 1961 gedreht und der Motion Picture Produktion Code, auch Hayes Code genannt, war noch in Kraft, also kann man die Profession der beiden Helden nur aus Dialog - Halbsätzen herausahnen. Aber eben diese Dialoge sind ganz wunderbar, präzise und immer nur in der Andeutung der wirklichen Emotionalität, das was wir heute als cool bezeichnen.

New York ist ein weiterer Hauptdarsteller des Films und wenn man genau hinschaut, weiß man wo "Sex and the City" und unzählige andere NY Filme und Serien ihren Blick auf diese Stadt gefunden haben.
Also , für die Filmfreaks unter euch, wenn ihr Weihnachten nicht zum hundertsten Mal "Little Lord Fountleroy" oder "It's a wonderful life" ansehen wollt, "Frühstück bei Tiffany" und einen oder zwei Drinks eurer Wahl und fröhliche Weihnachten!
Die Darsteller: Audrey Hepburn als Holly Golightly, so schön, dass es fast unwirklich ist, George Peppard, als der blonde All-American Toyboy, die schon erwähnte Katze und Mickey Rooney als japanischer Nachbar Mr. Yunioshi. Henri Mancini hat die Musik geschrieben, vielleicht kennt ihr ja "Moon River", Audrey Hepburn singt übrigens das Original selbst, und sehr wichtig, wenn auch herrlich unrealistisch, die Kostüme der Heldin sind von Givenchy.
Zur Unterhaltung und zum Schrecken noch die Sexabteilung des Hays Codes, galt, wenn auch schon aufgeweicht, immerhin bis 1968!

Es wird erzählt, dass z.B., wenn zwei Leute (Natürlich Mann und Frau UND sexuelle Beziehungen zwischen Weißen und Schwarzen (deren Formulierung, nicht meine) waren verboten.) miteinander ins Bett gingen, mußten beide mindestens einen Fuß auf dem Boden neben dem Bett behalten und zwar auf den gegenüberliegenden Seiten des Bettes. Rein sportlich gesehen wäre das doch mal ein amüsantes Experiment, oder? |
